The King’s Foundation Inaugural Palm beach Fundraising Event and Charles Neal Exhibition

James Borynack and Adolfo Zaralegui hosted a private vernissage, cocktail reception, and terrace dinner on Tuesday, March 4, at Findlay Galleries, fundraising for The King’s Foundation, a charity founded by His Majesty King Charles III in 1990, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. More than 80 guests attended the cocktail reception and terrace dinner, raising over $300,000 to support The King’s Foundation’s array of programs and initiatives, including education and sustainability, farming and agriculture, traditional arts and crafts, health and wellbeing, architecture and urbanism.

It is with great reverence that Adolfo and I extend our unwavering support to The King’s Foundation. For over three decades, this remarkable organization has rendered vital relief to those in need across the globe. The Foundation’s initiatives strive to enhance living standards and emphasize the importance of preserving our natural environment and cultural heritage. The value and enduring impact it fosters within communities are truly immeasurable. We are very grateful for the support received from our esteemed fellow benefactors in Palm Beach to further champion The King’s Foundation and its myriad of transformative programs.

Charles Neal Exhibition

Findlay Galleries is proud to present Highgrove House, His Majesty’s Gardens, an exhibition of commissioned paintings by Charles Neal on view at our Palm Beach Galleries. This distinguished collection beautifully captures the enchanting vistas of His Majesty King Charles III’s private residence and its esteemed gardens. Notably, Charles Neal is the first artist granted permission to paint the breathtaking beauty of The King’s remarkable estate.

The exhibition is an interpretation of the gardens within the Highgrove estate created by collective advisers along with His Majesty’s ideas, plans and underlying philosophical viewpoint of life and its relationship to the natural world. The overall ambiance of the estate leaves one with a distinct sense that the creator of Highgrove’s gardens has a deep connection and holistic view of the natural world, along with its rhythms and sacred being.

Cocktail Reception

Guests were greeted by American and British flags, ushering them into the Findlay Galleries entrance. Supporters enjoyed a private vernissage of commissioned paintings by Charles Neal depicting the Highgrove House estate and its esteemed gardens, His Majesty King Charles III’s cherished private residence. As guests made their way to Findlay Galleries’ private terrace for dinner, they were immersed in a floral fantasy imbued with the colorful vistas of Highgrove House and Gardens, and floral arrangements filled the patio and the ceiling.

Adolfo Zaralegui introduced Kristin Murrin, the president and CEO of The King’s Foundation. She informed guests of current projects at UC Davis in California, Detroit, Michigan and New York City. She ended by reading a sealed letter written by His Majesty King Charles III, addressed to Palm Beach supporters. In it, he expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation and noted His Majesty’s ideals and the future of the Foundation, which sits so close to his heart.

Terrace Dinner

As dessert was served, long-time supporter and advocate for The King’s Foundation Tom Quick introduced a special auction item, a bespoke visit inviting American donors to participate in a week of festivities during the foundation’s Harmony Awards at St. James Palace, Westminster, London, Highgrove House and Gardens, Gloucestershire, The School of Applied Arts, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London. Quick ended with a call to the heart, successfully raising substantial donations to the cause.

Representing His Majesty, the Marquess and Marchioness of Aberdeen, family friends of the Royal Family who are actively involved in the Foundation and reside at the Haddo Estate in Aberdeen, Scotland, were guests of honor. The Marquess closed the evening with remarks of thanks and appreciation, inviting supporters to Haddo Estate and when they do visit, to remember to bring a self-portrait, a tradition his family has upheld to this day, which began 500 years ago when the Royal family members would visit.
